Change Makers Academy

Microschool Founder

Ariel, founder of Change Makers Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, has over eight years of experience teaching students across diverse learning environments. As a licensed K-6 teacher, she has taught 1st-3rd grade science at a project-based charter school, homeschooled neurodiverse students, and served as a 6th-grade science and social studies teacher, a math/reading interventionist, and a K-6 microschool leader during COVID. Her mission is simple: create joyful learning experiences, build essential life skills, and provide a safe space where students can flourish at their own pace. After seeing too many students lose their natural curiosity and love for learning in traditional education settings, she knew there had to be a better way. She believes the worst thing you can do in education is erase a child’s love for learning—and she’s committed to ensuring that never happens.

Ariel is one of the most passionate and gifted educators I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. She brings a rare mix of creativity, compassion, and intentionality to everything she does. Watching her build Change Makers Academy has been inspiring—her heart for neurodiverse students and her ability to create joyful, personalized learning experiences is unmatched. Any family that joins this school will not only find a safe, supportive environment but a teacher who truly sees and believes in each child.

My daughter came to Change Makers Academy behind in reading and feeling frustrated with school. Within months, she was not only reading on grade level, but she was excited to read. Ariel’s personalized teaching style made all the difference.

But what really blew me away was how she helped my daughter find her voice. She started a little slime business at school and was so proud to sell it to her classmates. She went from shy and discouraged to confident and motivated. I can’t recommend CMA enough for families who want more than just academics; they want growth, creativity, and a school that encourages their child’s interests.
