A New Small-School Option is Coming to OCPS Campuses

Opening for the 2026-27 school year in the Orlando area

KaiPod Learning is partnering with Orange County Public Schools to open small, in-person microschools inside select school campuses for the 2026–27 school year.

These microschools are designed for students who may be better suited for a small-group learning environment with personalized support.

What is a KaiPod Microschool?

A KaiPod microschool is a small learning community where students learn in groups of about 10–12, guided by an experienced educator who knows them well.

Students attend school in person, build strong relationships, and receive daily academic support in a calm, structured environment.

This model works especially well for students who:

  • Feel overwhelmed in large classrooms
  • Have struggled with attendance or engagement
  • Need a fresh start with more individual attention

Where will these microschools be located?

KaiPod microschools will be for Grades 2-6, located inside OCPS campuses in the Orlando area.

How Does Tuition Work?

Most families pay little to nothing to attend a microschool in Florida.

That’s because microschools—including KaiPod Learning Centers—are funded through Florida’s education scholarship program, often called an ESA.

What’s an ESA?

An ESA is education funding that follows your child. Instead of only being used at a traditional public school, it can be used for approved learning options like KaiPod.

For many families, the ESA covers the full cost of attendance.

In Florida, ESAs are administered by Step Up for Students, the organization that helps families access education scholarships.

Is This the Right Fit for Your Child?

KaiPod microschools may be a good fit if your family is looking for

  • Smaller class sizes
  • More individual attention
  • Strong relationships between students and educators
  • A supportive environment focused on re-engagement and growth

This option is not designed to replace traditional schools for every student. It’s meant to offer an additional pathway for families who want something different.
