Barefoot Technology Academy is a STEM-focused, fully virtual high school for bright, gifted, and twice-exceptional teenagers who are ready to go above and beyond. We believe that young people learn best when they’re creating, building, coding, questioning the world around them, and doing real, meaningful work.

Our students are curious, intense, and often underserved by traditional schools. They’re the ones who light up when solving a problem, deep-diving into a topic, and asking all the “what if?” questions.

We offer project-based learning, driven by student interest and exploration, alongside a core curriculum of discussion-based learning. Students work towards mastery of core and advanced competencies, create a large portfolio, complete internships, research programs, and volunteering hours, and earn college credit.

At the heart of our approach is a strong STEM focus. Science, technology, engineering, and math are woven into projects that challenge students to think critically, design creatively, and apply their knowledge in real-world ways.
