Working at The Attuned Community School has been such a blessing and a life changing experience for me. It is a unique micro school with mixed age groups, the environment is warm, welcoming, and filled with amazing children. Everyday I have had a chance to learn and grow just by being around them. A huge part of my growth has also came from being mentored by Mrs. Nelson. Her guidance and wisdom has helped shape the way I approach working with children with disabilities. She is patient, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about what she does, and she passed on many valuable tools and insights that I will carry with me.

The Attuned Community School is a school like no other. It has been life changing for our child–who loves school and asks to go on the weekends!

The educational landscape in our community is not always inclusive of neurodivergent children, children who thrive in small learning environments or children who need to learn differently. Plagued by the legacy of “segregation academies”, at times parents can feel as though they have limited choice in where to send their children that will support the whole child–their social emotional and academic needs in order to meet the demands of an ever-changing 21st century world. But, The Attuned Community School answers all of those needs. It is inclusive and hands-on. Homeschool children attend part-time and children come from other private schools or public schools to attend.

The children are always engaged, whether it be by going to farm school and learning to ride horses, to going to nature school or learning to fly indoors at I-Fly in Atlanta. The children participate in collaborative learning , learn to cook and genuinely get along. There is no bullying here! Mrs. Nelson pushes past traditional educational barriers to provide a first-class education that is unrivaled.

Parents are welcome to work side by side Mrs. Nelson to curate their child’s educational experience. Every six weeks children deep dive into interesting topics that enrich their lives. Most recently it was a theatre production that helped with speaking skills and literacy.

We are elated for the next academic year and hope that families looking to immerse their child in a one-of-a-kind learning experience will join the TACS family.

This school is amazing my son’s social and cognitive levels have improved tremendously. He loves to attend and there is never a dull day! I love that he is not just forced to sit in a seat all day and learn . They get a chance to venture out and explore learning things outside the classroom. If you are looking for a school that is a cut above the rest and willing to meet your learner where they are at, Attuned Community School is the micro school for you!

My 2 girls are both enrolled in The Attuned Community School. This was a game changer. My oldest has excelled in classes that she was previously in and having problems in. She has grown in confidence, loves that she isnt stuck behind a desk all day. We love that they involve Nature, outdoors, cooking, horse back riding, and they learn hands on. They have tutors and special guest who come and talk with them. My little one who has autisum fits in here perfect. We love the small classroom sizes and one on one that they recieve. Mrs. Nelson and The Attuned Community School, has been the best decision for our family.

I am so happy we found the attuned community school! She takes them on the coolest field trips where they get to learn academically, socially, and have fun! When at school, they get to learn together and at their own levels instead of being rushed. She makes learning fun for them! My kids love la his teachers and we are so grateful for Ms Nelson!

My three kids go to this school and I wouldn’t want them anywhere else! They do untraditional learning but that works, they aren’t sitting at a desk all day. I have two with special needs one more so than the other but she really knows how to engage and work with children and who have disabilities especially neurodivergent children. She works with the students not just educationally but also emotionally. She wants to make sure the students are ok because you cannot learn if there’s a lot going on emotionally. My kids love school and miss her when they are gone! We love her and the school. I would highly recommend having your child attend this school! ❤️

As a family, we are beyond grateful to have found this incredible micro-school.

From the moment we enrolled our kindergartener, we knew we had found something truly special. The philosophy that joy and learning should go hand in hand is not just a belief here—it’s the foundation of everything they do. Our child is not only learning core academic skills, but doing so in a way that sparks curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

What sets this school apart is its commitment to meeting each child where they are. Through hands-on play, meaningful projects, and one-on-one support, our kindergartener is thriving—academically, socially, and emotionally. Whether it’s math through games or literacy through dramatic play, every lesson is designed with care and intention, helping children build strong connections to the material and a genuine love for learning.

The environment is nurturing, inclusive, and full of joy. The teacher and support staff pour their hearts into each day, and it shows. Our child looks forward to school with excitement and comes home full of stories, ideas, and new skills.

As a family, we value education deeply, and finding a program like this—one that honors childhood, embraces neurodiversity, and fosters lifelong learning—has been the best thing to happen to us. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of this learning community and can’t wait to see how our child continues to bloom here.

Me and my daughter started with the school when they 1st began. We have seen the school start from 5 and blossom to a full school within a year. The hard work and dedication put in is fantastic, and my daughter has been able to learn without judgment or isolation. She has been hands-on and comfortable with her surroundings and learning has been something that she wants to do not feel like she’s forced to do.
I look forward to her continue growth in the next couple years.

I love the support and knowledge I receive about my child’s education and much more! The amount of support is unmatched. Thank you Ms. Nelson, Ms. King, peers and parents for a great experience!!
