Stephanie Van Horn, NBCT (x3), is not just another educator with a stack of credentials — though after 31+ years in the classroom and earning the coveted National Board Certification not once, not twice, but three times, she’s certainly got them. She’s a teacher, leader, and advocate who knows firsthand what it takes to cultivate brilliance in young minds while keeping their hearts grounded in truth.
Guided by her faith, Stephanie believes that God leads and inspires her in how to reach each child — academically, emotionally, and spiritually. After decades of watching children get lost in the shuffle of crowded classrooms and one-size-fits-all systems, she decided enough was enough. She founded Wellspring Preparatory School — Union County’s very first microschool — as a place intentionally tiny on purpose. Why? Because every child deserves more than being just another name on a roster.
Her vision blends rigorous STEM education with faith-based principles, creating a safe haven for families who are tired of their children being pulled in directions that don’t align with their values. Here, curiosity is encouraged, critical thinking is celebrated, and Jesus isn’t an afterthought. Stephanie has built a community where learning is personal, joy is intentional, and the standard is nothing less than excellence — with a little sparkle on top.

Wellspring Prep is awesome, awesome, awesome. My princess has learned so much and Mrs. VanHorn is an extraordinary teacher. Not only are the kids learning academically but they are able to be loud and proud for God, learning scriptures and stop to say a prayer any time of the day.
