Dr. Jennifer Peterson is the founder and owner of Peterson Learning Center, a groundbreaking K–12 hybrid microschool redefining how children learn. A former GED graduate who went on to earn a doctorate in Educational Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Peterson embodies resilience, vision, and a deep commitment to transforming education. With over two decades of experience as a licensed teacher, instructional leader, corporate trainer, and educational administrator, she has dedicated her career to creating environments where every learner can thrive. Her leadership blends academic expertise with a passion for hands-on, real-world learning that empowers students to grow into confident, capable young leaders. Driven by her belief that education should be an experience—not a series of tests—Dr. Peterson has built a program that values individuality, creativity, and community connection. Under her direction, Peterson Learning Center has earned accreditation through the Middle States Association and recognition from the Better Business Bureau for its ethical and innovative practices. Dr. Peterson continues to expand her educational vision, opening new locations and designing programs that meet the needs of traditional, advanced, and struggling learners alike.

Five stars are not enough to express our gratitude for Peterson Learning Center. Our son struggled immensely in public school, which was a never-ending source of stress for him and our entire family. In an attempt to find a better fit, we transitioned to another private school, but it quickly became clear that they couldn’t meet his needs either. It was heartbreaking to hear him ask to transfer every single week.
Discovering Peterson Learning Center completely changed our lives. Their approach to education is phenomenal—they provide true individualized learning, meeting students exactly where they are and supporting them every step of the way to reach their goals. Beyond academics, they place a wonderful emphasis on promoting socialization between students and keeping them engaged in their learning environment.
The transformation in our son has been incredible. He now constantly expresses how happy he is at school and loves that he is learning practical concepts he can actually apply to his post-high school goals. If you are looking for a school that truly cares about your child’s individual growth and happiness, we cannot recommend Peterson Learning Center enough.
