Wildwood Academy
Wildwood Academy is a child-centered school for grades PreK-3 that prioritizes an education following student’s interest, curiosity, and imagination. As you look to find a microschool in Clearwater that meets your family’s needs, we encourage you to reach out to us!
We value spending much of our day learning outside and know that learning though play is highly valuable.
Students engage in hands on learning inspired by teaching philosophies of Montessori and Waldorf and the research of Lucy Calkins, Megan Franke and others.
We balance and integrate the learning done in and out of the classroom: reading, writing, math, science and social studies while also engaging intentionally in the learning of life, in etiquette, entrepreneurship, problem solving, building and creating, caring for and growing plants and animals just to name a few.
Students at our school are responsible for the classroom environment and community, as well as the school’s farm with a vegetable and herb garden and chickens. They also have daily art, construction and overall creation time and instruction.
With the use of instructional techniques such as the Workshop Model for reading, writing and math and Project/Inquiry based learning model for social studies and science, students learn in a relaxed, fun and exciting environment. These teaching modalities also make the learning path personalized and students have one on one coaching each day.
Our school uses study technology from L. Ron Hubbard which ensures that students have full conceptual understanding of their studies. We also apply references on how to handle children and assist technology from the works of L. Ron Hubbard.
We value our school community and have a cooperative outlook and relationship with parents and community members.
