Tommi is the founder of PivotED and a veteran educator with over 13 years of experience working with students from early childhood through elementary grades. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s degree in Education from Texas A&M University. Throughout her career, she has been driven by one core belief: learning should make sense, feel meaningful, and actually work for the child in front of you—not just the system.
After seeing firsthand how many students were overlooked or underserved in traditional classrooms, Tommi created PivotED to offer something different. Her approach blends strong academic foundations with real-world application, focusing on building confident, capable learners who can think for themselves. She is passionate about creating an environment where students feel seen, supported, and challenged in the right ways—because when that happens, growth isn’t forced… it’s inevitable.

Hands down the best place we could have put out little boy! We’d worked with him long before he was old enough to go to school, so going into kindergarten he was already ahead of the game. There was a real fear school would stunt his development at the age he should be learning how to learn when he already understood. Mrs Tommi has done AMAZING at teaching to the student, not the grade. Our six year old is reading chapter books and multiplying/dividing fractions. She has taught him to learn where we had always just snuck in the basics. He loves going to school. Could not be happier with our choice in school <3
