Microschool Founder

God's Little People Learning Academy is a microschool founded by Mar'Keda P. Gould and Jacqueline Gould—a mother-daughter duo whose passions have been rooted in early childhood education for a combined total of over four decades. Mar'Keda earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Sciences, with a concentration in Child Development and Early Childhood Education, and has over ten years of experience in public schools and private preschools in the roles of Special Education and General Education teacher. Jacqueline is a licensed childcare director and has over 30 years of combined experience in early childhood education and public school. After being in the public school system for many years and seeing the impact that large classrooms have on many students' academic and social-emotional progress, they both decided to step out on faith, resign from their positions in public school, and embark on a new journey of serving students who truly thrive in intimate settings and benefit from personalized learning. They began that journey by opening an in-home childcare facility. This facility operated more like a private preschool with a hybrid of school-style, traditional, student-led inquiry-based instruction than a childcare facility. Students and parents alike loved this model, as young scholars quickly began to thrive academically and socially. Little did they know, four months later, they would discover a unique opportunity to launch a microschool. Thus, God's Little People Learning Academy was born.
