Alexandra Batista is the founder of Steps Learning Center, a school founded to empower students in the ESE population and give them the tools to achieve their maximum potential and lead the most independent adult life possible. She has extensive experience in education, including seven years in elementary schools. She has also worked for Upward Bound, Tutoring Services, and Standardized Testing Preparation Programs.
Alexandra was born and raised in Puerto Rico where she graduated with a double bachelor’s degree in elementary and exceptional student education from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico (USA accredited). She holds certification from the National Virtual Teacher Association.

The staff at Steps Learning Center has been absolutely amazing with our little guy! Since he started attending their after-school care program, he is exploring, learning and developing in ways that have exceeded all of our expectations. They have our HIGHEST recommendation! Our son was diagnosed with ASD and is non-verbal and the strides that the staff have made with him has brought my husband and I to tears. If you are questioning whether to utilize their services, the answer is yes!

I really appreciate this school and the way they have made my daughter feel welcomed and nurtured. They are great at communicating with parents on what’s going on with the kids. Since, my daughter is nonverbal I was a little nervous about sending her to school but they’ve put me at ease.

Step Learning Center isn’t just a neurodiversity School but a great family. My daughter is welcome here. She is just 7 years old and she was in 3 different schools before Step Learning and no one is like step Learning. Those school said my daughter will never learn anything and now she can Read her name, she is saying more words, a discovery every day. They care. The teachers and staff are a like a family member. I just thankful.

They help my child with their personal goals, and tailor their learning/education accordingly.
