1251 Learning Essentials Academy is a faith-based K–8 microschool and learning community serving families in the Riviera Beach and North Palm Beach County area. Built on the belief that every child deserves personalized, purpose-driven education, 1251 LEA provides small learning pods, individualized instruction, strong literacy foundations, leadership development, and hands-on learning experiences in a nurturing environment. The academy integrates academic excellence with character education, biblical principles, and real-world enrichment to help students grow as confident learners and future leaders.

At 1251 LEA, students are encouraged to learn, lead, serve, and create through engaging instruction aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards, leadership development programs, literacy intervention support, STEAM experiences, entrepreneurship opportunities, and community service projects. With intentionally small class sizes and a relationship-centered approach, 1251 LEA partners closely with families to support the whole child academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Kendra Spence-Wester is an educational leader, literacy specialist, and founder of 1251 Learning Essentials Academy. With almost three decades of experience in education, she has served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, literacy specialist, and school administrator in both public and charter school settings. Her work is rooted in a deep commitment to closing academic gaps, strengthening literacy outcomes, and creating personalized learning environments where students can thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Kendra holds a Master of Science in Education and has extensive experience in curriculum development, teacher coaching, leadership training, and school transformation. As a Reading Recovery-trained literacy leader, she is passionate about helping struggling readers build confidence and success through structured literacy and relationship-centered instruction. Through 1251 LEA, she has developed innovative programs focused on literacy, leadership, STEAM education, entrepreneurship, and faith-based character development. Her mission is to empower students to learn, lead, serve, and create with purpose while building a lasting legacy of educational excellence in the community.
